Bob Jones University Wins First DII Men's Soccer National Championship

Kissimmee, FL (11/19/16):  Bob Jones University cruised through pool play and secured their first NCCAA DII Men’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday. After 5-0 wins over #3 Grace Bible College and #6 Ozark Christian College, the No. 2 seeded Bruins defeated the #4 North Central University (NCU) Rams by the score of 2-0. Junior Jared Simmons and freshman Jesse Rush provided goals to give BJU the 2-0 advantage at half. The Rams had 2 opportunities from the penalty spot, but were unable to convert either. The Bruins outscored their opponents 12-0 in their 3 games.
 
Karl Walker of BJU was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player and Wira Wama of Maranatha Baptist University was the Kyle Rote, Jr. Award recipient. The All-Tournament Team and Scholar-Athletes are listed here.
