Wesley Russell, senior guard from Columbus, OH, led the Ohio Christian Trailblazers with a career high 34 points with 12 rebounds and 8 assists, just two shy of a triple-double. He shot 71% from the floor and dominated his defensive matchup while being the best player on the floor. The following night we traveled to Berea, Kentucky to play Berea College. Russell surpassed his career high of 34 points set on Monday night by pouring on 44 points against an NCAA Division III opponent who only lost four games on the year. He also contributed 15 rebounds and 12 assists to earn a triple-double. In the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Championship Game, Russell scored 40 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and distributed 9 assists, one short of a triple-double.
