Laura Beth Yuhnke set a goal to qualify for the NCCAA National Cross Country Meet being held in her home state of New York. She started the season with a 27:38, more than three minutes slower than the qualifying mark. Her fastest 5K race prior to this weekend was a 25:23, still nearly a minute away. She knew this weekend was her last chance and she gave it her all, finishing in a time of 23:35, almost a full minute faster than the qualifying time.
