In winning two throwing events at the NCCAA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Championship, McMurry University's LaNissa Burns capped a great indoor season. Burns, a senior from Austin, Texas, not only won the shot put, but set a new NCCAA record for the event by three inches with a distance of 46’ 09.00”. In the weight throw, Burns had a distance of 55’ 00.75” to take the title.
