Devonse Reed, a junior forward from Dallas, Texas, led the Mid-America Christian University Evangels to their first ever NAIA National Championship. Reed was named the Chuck Taylor Most Valuable Player for the tournament after scoring a career high 30 points in a 93-89 victory over Campbellsville (KY) in the Fab Four game and then a team best 25 points in the thrilling 100-99 win over No. 1 ranked Georgetown (KY) in the national title game. In the two games, Reed averaged 27.5 points per game as he shot 57.6 percent (19 of 33) from the floor and a red hot 71.4 percent (5 of 7) from beyond the arc. Reed finished the season with a team high 16.2 points per game this season for the Evangels.
