At the Gulf South Conference Championship Invitational, Anna Grace Govero won the heptathlon with a total of 4,809 points, just 3 points shy of her NCCAA leading 4,812 at a previous event. The sophomore from Clinton, Mississippi also won the 100m hurdles in 14.77 and the 400m hurdles in 1:06.31. These times would rank her high in the NCCAA, but her previous bests have her at no. 3 in the 100m hurdles and no. 7 in the 400m hurdles. She also helped the 4 x 400m relay team take second with a time of 3:56.51 (no. 4 NCCAA). Govero added wins in the high jump (no. 1 NCCAA) and javelin throw (no. 7 NCCAA).
