Charles Smith, a junior from Monroe, Louisiana, had a team-leading 9 tackles in McMurry’s 34-28 come-from-behind victory, holding Louisiana College (LC) to just 62 rushing yards. Smith’s interception on his own 38 yard-line with just 19 seconds left in the game, thwarted a potential game-winning drive by LC and preserved the win for the War Hawks. Smith also had a fumble recovery, as the War Hawk defense upped its takeaways total to 25 on the year.
