Joy Smith played a large role in the Lady Eagles winning their fourth NCCAA DII South Regional Championship in the past five years. The junior from Macon, Georgia finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in the semifinal win over Toccoa Falls College. Smith then had a double-double as she scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win over Trinity College of Florida in the championship game. She sank the game-winning free throws with 10 seconds remaining, as the team secured an automatic bid into the NCCAA DII Women’s Basketball National Championship.
