Morgan Dockery, senior from Oklahoma Christian University, entered the Diffie Ford-Lincoln Invitational as an individual at the last minute and the decision turned out to be a good one, as she finished first in the six-team, 38-woman event at Kickingbird Golf Course (par 70, 5,821 yards) in Edmond, Okla. The win was the first of Dockery's college career. Dockery posted her best round of the year with a 72 in the first round on a warm, sunny Monday, putting her four shots clear of the field. Playing conditions turned bad Tuesday, with temperatures in the high 30s/low 40s and winds blowing 30-35 mph, which sent many scores into the 90s and 100s. But Dockery played steady, shooting an 84 to record a two-shot win over her teammate Odgers. Dockery became only the second player in OC women's golf history to take medalist honors in an event.
