Katy O’Steen, senior center from Oklahoma Christian University, a senior center from Durant, Okla., lifted Oklahoma Christian to the NCCAA Central Region title with wins over Ecclesia (Ark.), McMurry (Texas) and archrival Southern Nazarene. She recorded a double-double in the title game with 14 points and 12 rebounds as OC won 73-64, claiming its first postseason title in 27 years and ending SNU's 10-game winning streak in the process. The Central Region player of the year also is the heart and soul of her team, which has taken on her hard-working personality. For the week, O'Steen averaged 13.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocked shots per game while shooting 14-of-35 from the field (40 percent) and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line (91.7 percent).
