Roberto Diaz, sophomore from Oklahoma Christian University, posted the fastest time in the 5,000 meters this spring by a runner at an NCCAA school, finishing in 14:48.25 to take second place in the Emporia State Relays in Emporia, Kan. Diaz's time was more than two seconds faster than any other NCCAA runner has posted in the 5,000 during the outdoor season. He also helped three of his teammates finish in the top 12 in the 5K at Emporia State, with all of them posting national-qualifying times. Diaz has qualified for the NCCAA Outdoor Championships in three events -- the 5,000, the 1,500 meters and the 800 meters -- and ranks in the top 10 in each event.
