Mike Lachapelle, senior lefthanded pitcher from Arizona Christian University, threw the third shutout and third nine-inning complete game in Arizona Christian University's three-season baseball history, defeating The Master's College, which ranks sixth in the NAIA National Top 25, by a score of 7-0, in game one of a GSAC doubleheader, April 13, on Senior Recognition Day in Phoenix. Lachapelle struck out 12, the second-best single-game total in ACU history, and walked none and allowed eight hits. He retired the last six Mustangs he faced in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the win and the shutout. Lachapelle improved his record to 5-5 and lowered his team-best ERA to 3.13 and also leads ACU with 53 strikeouts and just 10 walks in 74.2 innings pitched this season. ACU, now 23-17 overall and 16-17 in GSAC play and ranked number one in the NCCAA Coaches poll for April 9, won all three games against nationally-ranked TMC last weekend.
