Brynn King opened her fifth year in an impressive way with a win in the pole vault at the Haynes-Lancaster Open hosted by the University of Akron. King, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, cleared 4.5-meters in the pole vault to rank first in the NCCAA and NCAA Division II. She earned national qualifying marks with the clearance and holds the best collegiate pole vault so far this season. Going into Monday she currently has cleared a mark that is nearly eight inches higher than the best NCAA Division I pole vaulter.
