Solomon Kardell made his first career start for the University of Northwestern this week and tallied the performance of a lifetime with a one-hit complete game shutout over Hamline University. The freshman from Coon Rapids, Minnesota struck out a career high 10 batters in the outing and walked just one as he cruised to the 7-0 victory. Kardell’s outing came after two weeks of not pitching and helped the Eagles to a 2-2 record. Northwestern is now 13-15 on the year after Kardell’s victory on the mound.
