Sam Bennett, sophomore running back from Hampton, Virginia, amassed the second-highest rushing total of his career in Bluefield's 45-27 win at Belhaven, going for 138 yards on 13 attempts with two touchdowns. Bennett broke free late in the first quarter with an 85-yard touchdown run to earn Bluefield a 14-7 lead. In the fourth quarter, Bennett led the Rams on their final scoring drive, posting rushes of nine and 24 yards in the series before finally punching in a six-yard run for his second touchdown of the day and putting the finishing touches on the Rams win.
