Sam Bennett, sophomore running back from Hampton, Virginia, rewrote Bluefield College’s modern-era record book with his 30-carry, 276-yard, 3-touchdown night in the Rams' first-ever MSC East Division win, a 68-56 victory at Union on Saturday. Each of those figures are new single-game program records, while Bennett also surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards in what was the 16th game of his career. Bennett's scoring plays came from one, yard in the first, 48 yards in the second and six yards in the fourth. The sophomore now has 755 rushing yards this season with nine touchdowns, both new single-season records.
