D’Von Campbell, senior guard from Arlington, TX, the week before Christmas Campbellsville University played two road games against NAIA DI teams receiving votes and opened the week by hosting the No. 1 team, and two-time defending national champions, from NCCAA DII, Ohio Christian. Campbell led the Tigers to a 3-0 week as the starting point guard, while averaging 22.7 points and 7 assists per game. He had only four turnovers, an assist turnover ratio of 5:1 in 114 minutes played. The transfer from Rutgers University scored a career-high 33 points to lead Campbellsville to a double-overtime victory at No. 17 Philander Smith on Friday. Campbell hit a 3 to tie the game at 82 at the end of regulation and force the first overtime. He scored five of CU's first six points in the second overtime to break a 93-93 tie and give the Tigers a 99-93 lead.
