Shea Coats, sophomore pitcher from Tuttle, OK, opened Oklahoma Christian's season by throwing her first career no-hitter (and the first no-no of the season by a Heartland Conference pitcher), striking out 8 in an 8-0 win over Mid-America Christian. It was the first no-hitter by an OC pitcher since February 2012. Coats then entered in relief in the second game of the doubleheader and recorded 6 strikeouts in 2 innings to pick up the win as OC prevailed 3-2. She didn't allow her first hit of the season until her eighth inning of work as opponents hit just .074 against her. Coats collected 14 strikeouts in just 8 innings pitched.
