Hall of Fame
Keith Champion has served within the NCCAA from 1979-1988 (Northland International University and Pensacola
Christian College) and then returned in 1999 to Pillsbury Baptist Bible College where he coached until its closing in 2008. He
has been at Clearwater Christian College since that time. He has served as an Athletics Director and Head Men’s Basketball
Coach during these years and has compiled over 500 victories on the court during his tenure. His teams have won NCCAA
Regional Championships and he has been named NCCAA Regional Coach of the Year on a number of occasions.
Keith’s legacy is his commitment to using basketball to serve the Great Commission. He has conducted over 60 camps in
15 states and several foreign countries. Having served as a pastor, Keith’s favorite pulpit is a gym or an outdoor park that has a
basketball court. His impact on the lives of the young men he has coached now includes dozens of ministers, business leaders
and educators who all list Keith in their spiritual development list of heroes. He continues to mentor and mold former players
who still call on him for guidance now that they are husbands, fathers, pastors, missionaries and business leaders.
From Keith’s goals for his players, you can see the heart of a man who knows that winning in Christ is the ultimate. Those goals are simply to
develop athletes that have a passion to serve their Lord with the talents He gave them while competing in sport and in life with the fervor and
enthusiasm Christ demands.
The NCCAA is pleased to welcome Keith Champion into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2011.
