Kristi Brodin, is completing her 25th year at Northwest College where she is presently the head coach of women’s basketball, assistant volleyball coach, and associate professor of physical education, during which time she has been instrumental in the growth and success of Northwest women’s basketball. In 1977, she began the Northwest College intercollegiate women’s basketball program, and has coached both volleyball and basketball at Northwest since that time. Kristi has led the Northwest women’s basketball teams to five NCCAA Division II National Championships in addition to four other National Tournament appearances. Her NCCAA basketball tournament record is 21-5. In the summer of 1991, Kristi was the women’s basketball coach for the Christian Sports Outreach International missions trip to Europe. Also, the summer of 1993, she was the assistant coach for the NCCAA Division II women’s basketball All-Americans missions trip to Costa Rica. The community has recognized the stature or Kristi’s team by honoring their multiple national championships with the charter membership in the “City of Kirkland’s Circle of Champions” While at Northwest, Kristi has served on NCCAA II national committees for both women’s volleyball and basketball (for which she has been national vice-chair and chairperson). Kristi uses her summers to further serve the Lord and society. She coaches each summer at area basketball camps, including a prominent Christian basketball camp that enables coaches to share their faith with many young athletes who may not have other Christian influences in their lives.
