Jim Kessler, has been involved in Christian higher education at Grace College since 1975. He presently is an associate professor of physical education and the men’s basketball coach. During his 16 years as Grace College basketball coach, Lancer basketball teams have won ten Mid-Central College Conference (MCC) championships. His record over the last 16 seasons at Grace is 337-192, .637. He has been named MCC Coach of the Year on nine occasions and was selected NCCAA National Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1992. He has received NCCAA District 3 Coach of the Year honors on five occasions and NAIA District 21 Coach of the Year honors four times. He was also voted the NAIA Division II National Coach of the Year in 1992 when the Lancers were crowned NAIA National Champions. Kessler is presently the NCCAA National Basketball I Chair.
