Olivet Nazarene University Dominant in Second-Straight Victory Bowl Win

Greenville, IL (11/23/19):  Olivet Nazarene University won its second-straight and fifth overall (1997, 2004, 2005, 2018) NCCAA Victory Bowl™ on Saturday as they defeated Greenville University 69-8. The Tigers started the scoring with a 1 yard touchdown run by LaShaun Rule and never looked back. After taking a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, Jordan Lawton hit Jared Honey for a 97 yard pass touchdown with 12:24 to go in the second. The Tigers then scored on a 70 yard punt return by Jayvion Daniels for a 35-0 lead. Early in the third quarter, Javion Daniels scored on a 91 yard punt return to give the Tigers a 49-0 lead. The Tigers’ special teams blocked a field goal and Montrell Campbell returned it 72 yards for a 62-0 lead as time expired in the third quarter. Greenville’s George Harris scored early in the fourth quarter on a 1 yard touchdown run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion to help the Panthers avoid the shutout.
 
Lawton finished 15-of-20 for 290 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, while Rule lead the team in rushing with 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. Honey had 3 receptions for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns and Scott Graziano finished with 3 receptions for 91 yards and 1 touchdown. On the defensive side for the Tigers, Jason Freeman led the team in tackles with 7, including 2 sacks. Both Gerald Blackmon and Patryk Ryczek had an interception on the day.
 
For the Panthers, quarterback George Harris was 20-of-34 for 289 yards and 2 interceptions. The Tiger defense stifled the Panther run attack, but Eric Kranh caught 4 passes for 105 yrads and Kyler Henson had 9 receptions for 73 yards. Defensively, Gavin Jordan finished with 11 tackles, while both Brock Bullar and Lakari Benjamin tallied 6.
 
Jared Honey of Olivet Nazarene was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player, while Gavin Jordan of Greenville was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
