Maranatha Baptist University Wins 2020 DII Women’s Soccer National Championship 11/21/2020 6:34:49 PM Kissimmee, FL (11/21/20): Maranatha Baptist University (MBU) won its first-ever NCCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday. The No. 1 seeded Sabercats beat No. 3 Randall University 5-1, as Alexis Sponable scored two goals while McKenna Massey, Taylor Moses, and Kseniya Hassenplug each scored one. The Sabercats outshot the Saints 24-3. The Sabercats advanced to the championship game after defeating No. 4 Toccoa Falls College 2-1. Taylor Moses got the scoring started for MBU, but the Screaming Eagles were able to tie it before the half. The Sabercats’ Alexis Sponable was able to score the game-winning goal in the second half, sending her team to the championship game.
