Johnson University Tennessee Captures 2021 DII Men's Basketball National Championship

Joplin, MO: Johnson University Tennessee (JUTN) claimed its first-ever DII Men’s Basketball National Championship, taking down No. 5 seeded Arlington Baptist University by the score of 95-74. Coby Jones had a game high of 30 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists to lead the Royals in the win. Miles Long was another big factor, scoring 22 points, on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor.
 
On their way to the final, the No. 3 seeded Royals defeated No. 6 Manhattan Christian College in double-overtime 97-92. Coby Jones led all scorers with 38 points and was 14-of-15 from the free throw line, while also grabbing 13 rebounds in this first round game. JUTN made easier work of No. 2 seeded Kansas Christian College with a dominant 92-67 win in the semifinal matchup. Coby Jones finished with 23 points and 7 rebounds, while Miles Long had 15 points and Nick Jones scored 14.
