Trinity International University Wins 2022 DI Women’s Volleyball National Championship 12/3/2022 4:02:08 PM Point Lookout, MO (12/3/22): Trinity International University (TIU) won its first-ever NCCAA Division I Women's Volleyball National Championship on Saturday, as they took down top seeded, Columbia International University 3-2 (25-14, 19-25, 15-25, 25-16, 15-12). The No. 2 seeded Trojans were led by Lana Vujosevic who notched 19 kills and 19 digs. Brianna Torres finished with 17 kills and 18 digs, while Anna Skrzypchak added 49 assists. In the team's first pool play match, TIU defeated No. 3 Mid-America Christian University 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-14, 25-20), as Torres (20 kills, 17 digs) and Vujosevic (16 kills, 23 digs) both finished with double-doubles. The Trojans then swept the host and No. 6 seed, College of the Ozarks, 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 30-28) as three Trojans tallied double doubles, Torres (15 kills, 17 digs), Vujosevic (12 kills, 14 digs) and Skrzypchak (47 assists, 12 digs). The Trojans went on to defeat No. 5 Judson University 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 25-19, 25-18) in a semifinal bout, as both Torres (15 kils, 10 digs) and Skrzypchak (50 assists, 10 digs) led the way with double-doubles. Brianna Torres of TIU was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player and TIU's Luke Ward was named Coach of the Year. The All-Tournament Team and other awards are listed here.
