Kissimmee, FL (11/18/23) – Pensacola Christian College (PCC) captured its third (2017, 2019) NCCAA DII Men’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday. The No. 1 seeded Eagles beat the No. 2 seed,
Boyce College, by the score of 2-1. Pensacola's offense started off strong with two goals coming off the foot of Lourenco Goncalves in the first 15 minutes of play. Boyce would add a goal two minutes later, but PCC's defense would hold off the Bulldogs for the remaining 75 minutes.
The Eagles faced
Southwestern Adventist University in their opening pool play match, winning by a score of 4-1. Pauliello Giovanni and Samuel Barragan each scored a goal, while Niwe Mugeni added two. The Eagles were then tested in a back-and-forth affair with
Grace Christian University, ultimately winning 3-2 on a late goal by Samuel Barragan. Reid Rhodes and Lourenco Goncalves also added goals for the Eagles in their final pool play match.
PCC’s Niwe Mugeni was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The All-Tournament Team and other awards are listed
