Danielle Ruhr Named 2023 DII Cross Country Bullock Award Recipient

Greenville, SC - The NCCAA is pleased to announce Danielle Ruhr of Boyce College as the 2023 Dr. Ray Bullock Award Recipient for Division II Women’s Cross Country.
 
33540Ruhr, a senior from Buffalo, Minnesota, maintains an inspirational witness on and off the course. She is passionate about the Gospel and God’s Word and is preparing to devote her life to ministry service. Ruhr is an active member and is involved in numerous discipleship ministries at her church. On campus, she participates in multiple missions groups and efforts, helping equip fellow students to share the Gospel and minister to others domestically and abroad. She also participates in several volunteer roles in Louisville, Kentucky, including at the Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy.
 
As a runner, Ruhr has led her team the last two years, establishing an impressive school record for a second-year program. Ruhr’s best 5k time of 20:00 came at the 2022 NCCAA National Championship as she took third. That finish led to Ruhr being named an NCCAA Division II All-American. She’s also earned NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honors and the 2022 Boyce College Athletics Bulldog Award. The Biblical counseling major holds a 3.95 GPA and has been named an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
 
“Danielle is a humble, faithful, and inspiring leader,” said Head Coach Isaac Buckner. “She serves in every situation she finds herself in and is very attentive to the needs of others, including her opponents.”

Award Description
For many years, Dr. Ray Bullock dedicated himself to the development of cross country as a sport in general, but also as a ministry within the NCCAA. The NCCAA Hall of Famer (1999) led his teams to over 10 total NCCAA and NAIA national championships and coached dozens of All-Americans. Bullock has impacted the lives of countless student-athletes and coaches through his mentoring and sacrifice.
