#KINGCHASING STUDY PROGRAM: UNIT SEVEN - SUCCESS

1/2/2026 9:22:11 AM

This unit explores how faith shapes the way coaches approach success. Being a Christian doesn't remove the desire to win or achieve, but it reorients motivation from self-glory, fear, or external approval toward God-honoring excellence. Through coaching with an Audience of One mindset, sharing the gospel naturally with athletes, and leveraging the coaching platform to glorify God, coaches can influence the total athlete - physically, mentally, and spiritually. By embracing this perspective, coaches can lead with freedom, integrity, and purpose, reflecting Christ in every practice, game, and interaction.

Unit Seven – Success

Lesson One – What is an Audience of One Coach?
This article explains how Christian coaches can prioritize God's pleasure above all else in their coaching. By grounding decisions and actions in God's presence, biblical values, and their identity as His child, coaches can model an Ao1 mindset, serve the total athlete (spiritually, mentally, and physically), and lead with freedom from external pressures, focusing on glorifying God rather than chasing wins, recognition, or accolades.

Lesson Two – Sharing the Gospel as a Coach
This article reframes Acts 17 as a practical guide for coaches to engage sport culture with the gospel by recognizing sport's idolatry, building trust through cultural fluency, appealing to athletes' lived experience of success and emptiness, and courageously sharing the full gospel - trusting God with the results rather than measuring success by outcomes.

Lesson Three – How Coaches Give Glory to God
This article explores how coaches can glorify God through their vocation by creating order from chaos, aligning their motives with God's purposes, and leveraging their platform to influence athletes' spiritual growth. True glory comes not just from winning or outward success, but from coaching with God-honoring intentions and intentional missional influence.
