THE HISTORY
The NCCAA DII Men's Basketball National Championship has been played every year since 1976, except for 2020 due to COVID, with Ft. Wayne Bible College winning the first national championship. Grace Christian University (formerly known as Grace Bible College) has won the most DII Men's Basketball national championships with six, their last coming in 2019. The Tigers also won four straight titles from 2009-2012. No school has won back-to-back DII Men's Basketball national championships since Randall University (formerly known as Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College) won three straight championships from 2017-2019. Seven different schools have won the DII Men's Basketball title in the last eight years. The Minneapolis, Minnesota area has hosted the DII Men's Basktball National Championship for the last three years, with Crown College winning the championship in 2024 on the home court of rival North Central University and the Rams returning the favor in 2025, winning their national championship on the home floor of the Polars in Saint Bonifacius last season.

LAST YEAR
North Central University took home their first blue banner for DII Men's Basketball in 2025, as the second seeded Rams knocked off top-seeded Spurgeon College 101-92. Tanner Holtman rewrote the record books for the Rams in the title tilt, draining 11 three-pointers, a new NCU record, to hold off the high-powered Spurgeon Knights. Carmello McNeal was the Tournament's Most Valuable Player, scoring 18 points and hauling down seven boards in the title game. North Central opened their title run with a 107-68 thrashing of Champion Christian College, shooting a blistering 52.3% from the field and scoring 47 points off the bench. The Rams avenged their loss in the 2024 National Championship game to rival Crown with an 83-76 win over Crown College in the semifinals, as McNeal stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 28 points, pulling down seven rebounds and tallying three blocks.
