Azusa Pacific University and Selma University to Join the NCCAA in 2026-27

Greenville, SC - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) is excited to introduced two new institutions starting in the 2026-27 academic year in Azusa Pacific University and Selma University.
 
“With their rich history and commitment to sharing the Gospel of Christ through the educational model, we are honored to welcome Azusa Pacific University and Selma University back into NCCAA membership," stated NCCAA Executive Director Dan Wood. We look forward to assisting each institution as they develop a robust intercollegiate athletics program and partner with them in #KingChasing efforts."

 

Azusa Pacific University
Azusa Pacific University (APU) is in Azusa, California and will be joining the NCCAA as a full member in the Division I West Region. Azusa plans to compete in the following NCCAA sports in 2026-27: Baseball, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Cross Country, Men's & Women's Soccer, Softball, Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field, Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field, and Women's Volleyball.

"The mission and purpose of the NCCAA reminds us of the very best reasons for having an intercollegiate athletics program. At APU, we talk about the joy competition being a gift from God, as are the talents that He gives young men and women and the leadership skills He bestows on coaches.  Our aim and goal is to bring honor to God through our competition and in the process furthers the NCCAA's presence in college athletics."

Selma University
Selma University is in Selma, Alabama and will be joining the NCCAA as a Division II South Region Provisional Member. Selma plans to compete in the following NCCAA sports in 2026-27: Men's Basketball and Women's Volleyball.

"Selma University is honored and excited to be accepted into the NCCAA," said Selma Athletic Director Jeremiah Whitt. "The opportunity represents a major step forward for our athletic department and our institution as a whole. Becoming a member of the NCCAA aligns perfectly with Selma University's mission of developing student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically."
