GREENVILLE, S.C. – In the second  NCCAA Plays of the Year Fan Vote Competition, Maranatha Baptist University’s Pedro Riberio’s coast-to-coast goal vs Rockford University in September 2025 took home the 2025-2026 NCCAA Play of the Year honor.

Riberio’s goal beat out Nelson University’s Pascoal Manuel’s goal from midfield against University of Science & Arts from October 2025 in the finals of the fan vote, with over 800 combined votes cast for the two plays on the NCCAA Instagram and Twitter/X social media channels.

Riberio’s win wraps up a month long competition on the NCCAA social media channels, beating out 13 other plays, which were all selected as NCCAA Play of the Month or made the top five during the 2025-2026 athletic year.

All plays are submitted to the NCCAA by representatives from member schools or are taken from streams of NCCAA National Championship events on the NCCAA Network. Five plays are chosen by the NCCAA national office for inclusion in Plays of the Month. The Plays of the Month video will be released in the first week of the following month.

The 2026-27 Plays of the Month will begin in October 2026, with the best plays from August-September 2026 up for consideration. Past Plays of the Month videos can be watched here.
