Greenville, SC (11/17/18):  Bob Jones University (BJU) knocked off the 3-time defending champions, Maranatha Baptist University, to win its first-ever NCCAA DII Women’s Volleyball National Championship. The Bruins took down the Sabercats 3-0 (29-27, 25-17, 25-19) and finished the tournament 15-3 in sets.
 
The No. 1 seeded Bruins only lost one set in pool play. In their first match, BJU defeated #8 Randall University 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-19). The Bruins then beat #5 Johnson University Tennessee 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22) and #4 Emmaus Bible College 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-16). In the semifinals, BJU battled with #3 Geneva College, ultimately winning 3-2 (25-17, 18-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-13).
 
Bob Jones University’s Brooke Beaver was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The All-Tournament Team and other awards are listed here.
