Abby Pausch Named 2022 DII Cross Country Bullock Award Recipient

Greenville - SC - The NCCAA is pleased to announce Abby Pausch of Crown College as the 2022 Dr. Ray Bullock Award Recipient for Division II Women’s Cross Country.
 
29272Pausch’s goal is to become more like Christ day-by-day, and to bring her relationship with Him into everything she does. The senior from Hanska, Minnesota has been active in Crown’s chapel production, teaching Sunday school, and helping in vacation Bible school. Pausch has also tutored Somali students in the community and served with Feed My Starving Children. Additionally, she has served as the Welcome Week Coordinator at Crown, assisting in developing an environment that welcomes 200 new students and integrates them into the campus community.
 
On the course, Pausch’s fastest career 6k time of 24:51 came this year at the Bluegold Invitational. In 2021, Pausch earned All-Conference with her third-place finish and NCCAA All-American as she took fourth place at the NCCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country National Championship. The secondary social studies education major holds a 3.918 GPA and has earned academic honors that include Dean’s List, Academic All-Conference, and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
 
“Abby has been a vital part of the cross country and track program at Crown over the past three and a half years,” said Head Coach Bill Braunger. “Her value to the program is found in both her running ability and her ability to relate to others on the team.”

Award Description
For many years, Dr. Ray Bullock dedicated himself to the development of cross country as a sport in general, but also as a ministry within the NCCAA. The NCCAA Hall of Famer (1999) led his teams to over 10 total NCCAA and NAIA national championships and coached dozens of All-Americans. Bullock has impacted the lives of countless student-athletes and coaches through his mentoring and sacrifice.
