Greenville, SC - The NCCAA is excited to announce the hiring of Dave Bireline as Director of Championships beginning January 1, 2024. With almost 40 years in intercollegiate athletics as coach, administrator, and event manager, Bireline will bring a level of experience and excellence that will assist the association with elevating all aspects of its national championship platform.

As the former Director of Athletics at Concordia University-Irvine and Ohio Christian University, he is well-versed in hosting and overseeing events at the NAIA, NCAA DII, and NCCAA level. Most recently, as an Associate Professor of Sports Management at NCCAA member Columbia International University (CIU), Bireline showed a gift for developing partnerships both across the state and the region that allowed CIU students great access for internships. Along his career path, he has also served at Seattle Pacific University, his alma mater, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Taylor University, further deepening his understanding of the small college market and brand.

“We are so pleased to welcome Dave to the NCCAA staff primarily because he senses this association as his calling and not a career move,” stated NCCAA Executive Director, Dan Wood. “His passion for young people and his understanding of Christian higher education and its role in today’s culture makes him a perfect addition to our servant team at the national office. Dave’s high level work on national and regional events featuring sponsorships and logistical services will allow him to upgrade and enhance the championship experience for student-athletes, coaches, fans, and host communities,” Wood added.

The NCCAA hosts 22 national championships and 4 national invitationals between 13 men's sports and 13 women's sports. Eighteen of these national events are streamed live on the NCCAA Network. Christian Service Projects (CSP's) are conducted at each national event, in which student-athletes and coaches give of their time and resources to those locally, nationally, and internationally.

"I would like to thank the NCCAA for this amazing opportunity,” said Dave Bireline. “I am humbled and at the same time extremely excited to have the ability to work side-by-side with such outstanding individuals doing Kingdom work together, by serving our membership as we continue to strive daily to bring glory to Him."
