Malone University cruises to first NCCAA DI Women's Cross Country National Championship since 2011

Warsaw, IN – Malone University claimed the 2024 DI Women's Cross Country National Championship, earning their first title since 2011. Malone recorded five finishes within the top 10 to total 26 points at the Warsaw Community High School Cross Country Course. The race saw three-time defending national champion Grace College take second with 74 points and Campbellsville University take third with 101 points.

Highlights:
  • Christy Shank of Campbellsville was crowned the individual national champion with a time of 18:43.10 in the 5,000-meter. She finished just over 13 seconds ahead of the second place finisher in Rylee Yocum of Malone University. 
  • Malone took home five individual All-American honors. Rylee Yocum (2nd), Kristin Yeager (6th), Kaelyn Jones (7th), Kylee Gray (8th), 
  • Gracie Sanders of Mid-America Christian University earned third individually to earn the top finish among individuals qualifiers. 
  • Coach of the Year honors were given to Zach Fresenko of Malone. Freskenko earns the honor in his first year as the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field for the Pioneers.
