Manhattan Christian and Bob Jones to Meet in the 2025 NCCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball National Championship Match

Joplin, MO – The pool A winner and runner-up of Manhattan Christian College and Bob Jones University are set to meet in the NCCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball National Championship match after earning semifinal wins in Joplin, Missouri on Friday evening. Manhattan Christian returns to the NCCAA title match for the second time in the last three years, while Bob Jones returns for the eighth consecutive season. 
 
Tiebreaker Set One: #6 Alice Lloyd College 1, #7 Emmaus University 0
  • Less than 12 hours after completing their pool play match, Alice Lloyd and Emmaus would meet for a tie-breaker set as the fight continued for the final semifinal spot. 
  • The block was crucial for both sides early, as Alice Lloyd would record four solo blocks and Emmaus would record six assisted blocks to make it 14 all. Kyleah Ward of Alice Lloyd recorded all four blocks, while Brooke Hodges was involved in three blocks for Emmaus. 
  • The match would see a long delay with ALC up 16-14 due to blood on the floor after a collision that forced Eagles libero Gracie Gibson to receive treatment.  
  • After the delay, Rose Scotello would dominate the service line for Alice Lloyd to increase their edge to four, 19-15 and force Emmaus into a timeout. 
  • Kyleah Ward would earn the set point for Alice Lloyd with a kill to give the Eagles the advancement to the second tiebreaker, 25-19. Ward ended the set with four kills and four blocks to power ALC to a redemption victory over Emmaus. 
Tie-Breaker Set One: #2 Arlington Baptist University 1, #6 Alice Lloyd College 0
  • With a semifinal berth on the line against Manhattan Christian College later today, both Arlington Baptist and Alice Lloyd would battle from start to finish. After the Patriots scored the first three points of the tiebreaker set, Alice Lloyd responded to tie things at nine. 
  • Tara Tackett was dominant on the block for Arlington Baptist early, recording three blocks in the first 20 points to give ABU an 11-9 advantage and force Alice Lloyd into a timeout. 
  • The Alice Lloyd timeout would not slow Arlington Baptist down, as Avery Allsop recorded a pair of kills to help the Patriots score eight straight and lead 16-9. 
  • Arlington Baptist cruised to the finish line with a kill from Ameilia Carr giving them a 25-15 tiebreaker set victory to advance to the 3 p.m. semifinal vs. Manhattan Christian College. 
Semifinal One: #1 Manhattan Christian College 3, #2 Arlington Baptist University 0
  • In a rematch of last year’s semifinal that saw Arlington Baptist take it in five sets, Manhattan Christian was after revenge. The Thunder would get off to a great start, taking a 7-2 lead in set one with a pair of kills from Hali Clark and Ellie Wilson. 
  • Manhattan Christian continued to pour it on in the first set, going on a 7-0 run to increase their advantage to 19-6. Ellie Wilson continued to dominate with eight kills on 15 attempts as the Thunder went on to win set one, 25-12.
  • Arlington Baptist fared much better in set two, forcing the Thunder into an early timeout at 8-5. Ameilia Carr recorded back-to-back kills to help the Patriots get out to the lead.
  • MCC would crawl back into the match cutting the deficit to just one on multiple occasions to force a Patriot timeout at 18-17. 
  • Liv Lubbers would dominate the serve down the stretch recording a pair of service aces to continue the Manhattan Christian run out of the timeout giving them a 7-0 run and a 22-18 lead. 
  • A kill from Hali Clark would secure the set two comeback victory for the Thunder, 25-19. Manhattan Christian would go up 2-0 on the match. 
  • Manhattan Christian continued their success into the third set sweeping the defending national champions with a 25-17 victory. Ellie Wilson led the way for the Thunder with 16 kills and a .297 hitting percentage to help secure a bid to the 2025 NCCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball National Championship match. 
Semifinal Two: #4 Bob Jones University 3, #3 Pensacola Christian College 1
  • Pensacola Christian, in search of their third win over south region foe Bob Jones this season, got off to a great start, scoring the first four points of the match. 
  • Bob Jones would fight back to tie the set at eight after a block from Hannah Goodwin and Mattie Stevens. 
  • Syndey Anderson would score three straight points for the Eagles with a pair of kills and a block to help regain the lead. Pensacola Christian would go on to take set one 25-17 Anderson’s dominant performance and a 5-0 run. 
  • Bob Jones got off to a much better start in set two, leading much of the first 25 points. Pensacola Christian would see a service ace from Hope Brooks however that would put them back in front 13-12. 
  • The back-and-forth continued as the Bruins would make the last surge of set two to win 25-21. Alyssa Goebert, after not playing all tournament, came in and recorded a huge kill that helped Bob Jones tie the match at a set apiece. 
  • Bob Jones continued to find their rhythm in set three. The Bruins forced Pensacola Christian into a timeout after a kill from Hannah Goodwin and a pair of Eagle errors gave BJU a 10-7 lead. 
  • Bob Jones would continue to roll after the timeout, securing a 5-0 run. They would increase their lead to as large as eight in the set to win 25-17 and take control of the match. 
  • BJU would take the 4-3 lead in set four early after a huge block from Stefanie Burke and Madison Goldstrom. 
  • Pensacola Christian would fight back and lead by as many as two late in the fourth set but once again Alyssa Goebert would record a crucial kill for the Bruins. Goebert would find the floor with just her third kill of the match to put Bob Jones back in front 18-17 and force an Eagle timeout. 
  • Hannah Goodwin would carry Bob Jones to the finish line, recording a pair of big kills and blocks to help the Bruins secure set four 25-18. Bob Jones would advance to the championship match for the eighth consecutive season with the win over Pensacola Christian.
