Host Cedarville University Wins the 2025 Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championships 2/8/2025 12:00:00 AM Cedarville, OHIO – Host Cedarville University returns to the top of the Men’s Indoor Track & Field ranks for the first time since 2022, winning the 2025 National Championship. The Yellow Jackets recorded 177 team points, highlighted by strong day two performances in the 60-meter hurdles, 800-meter, mile, and 3,000-meter. Campbellsville University finished second with 134 points, and Malone University earned third with 105 points. Lamarr Williams of Bethel University earned the 2025 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet and Camron Hamby from Campbellsville University earned the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Meet. Track Highlights: In the first track event of the day Campbellsville University dominated the field winning the 4x800 meter. The Tigers ran a mark of 8:03.64 to win the event by eight seconds. After the event, Campbellsville had 65 team points to lead Cedarville University by 14. Lamarr Williams of Bethel University won a tight battle in the 60-meter dash final, besting Jason Baskerville of Campbellsville by a hundredth of a second for first place. Williams ran a 6.84 second mark, as the top three finishers all earned a time of seven seconds or less. Cedarville would gain some ground back in the 60-meter hurdles finishing first and second overall. Matthew Schaeckenbach won the event with a near personal best of 8.18 seconds. Calvin Speicher finished second with a personal best of 8.25 seconds. Cedarville took over first place once again after five of the top eight in the men’s mile. Xander Heil of Malone University would win the event with a personal best time of 4:21.54, but the Yellow Jackets would earn second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth in the event. Campbellsville regained the team lead behind a massive come from behind 400-meter heat five victory for Zachary Phelps. Phelps recorded a time of 50.90 to win the event. Teammates Kamarion Ward and Matthias Brice also finished in the top eight to give the Tigers 18 team points. The back-and-forth continued as Cedarville would dominate the 800 meters, taking the team lead back. Cedarville’s Caleb Sultan recorded a field house record of 1:53.99 to win the event, followed by teammate Brandon Rodgers. The Yellow Jackets recorded four of the top five times in the event. In the men’s 200-meter, Bethel would cruise over the competition. Lamarr Williams would earn his second event victory of the championships, recording a time of 22.29. Teammate Brennen Bargesser finished second with a time of 22.45. Devin Girtman of Campbellsville rounded out the All-American’s with a mark of 22.60 in the event. Cedarville would expand their lead in the 3,000-meter, taking second, fifth, and sixth in the event to move their team point total to 167. Hayden Schmidt from Malone would win the individual 3,000-meter title with a time of 8:42.97. Cedarville capped off the night winning the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:22.27. The Yellow Jackets ended the event with 177 team points. Field Highlights: Campbellsville University would take over sole possession of first place in the team standings after the conclusion of the long jump, the first field event of championship Saturday. Camron Hamby would finish second and Raylon Wilson would earn eighth for Campbellsville for nine team points. Kerry Robinson would win the individual event title for Southwestern Christian University with a mark of 7.26 meters, a new personal best. Bethel University saw a strong showing in the men’s pole vault as Joey Rutten set a new personal best of 4.55 meters to win the event. His teammate Trevor Smith finished third with a mark of 4.10 meters while Cedarville University saw Andrew Suter earn second and NCCAA All-American with a mark of 4.40 meters. Campbellsville would do much of the same in the men’s triple jump that they did early in the day in the long jump taking first and second in the event. Camron Hamby recorded a best jump of 14.60 meters, while teammate Corey Smith II jumped 14.02 meters to lead the field. In the final field event of the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Championships, Alphonse Jackson of York University would win with a shot put of 15.14 meters. Jackson finished first by over a foot to earn 10 points for York. Heptathlon Highlights: Andrew Heinrichs of York University put himself in prime position to secure the heptathlon title with a dominant performance in the 60-meter hurdles to open day two. Heinrichs ran to the tune of 9.09 seconds to win the event. Christopher Korthuis of Bethel University came in second at 9.40 seconds and Kaleb Brickner of Cedarville University earned third with a time of 9.47 seconds. Christopher Korthuis of Bethel earned a new personal best (PR) in the pole vault to cut the gap between first and second to under 100 points going into the final event of the 1000 meter. Korthuis cleared 3.90 meters on his final attempt for the PR. In the final event of the heptathlon, Alexander Swinehart of Malone University used a strong final lap to win the 1000 meters with a time of 2:50.24. Andrew Heinrichs of York would do enough though with a third-place finish and time of 2:53.31 to win the heptathlon with 4209 points. Swinehart moved to second with 4071 points and Christopher Korthuis of Bethel earned third with 4020 points.
