Greenville, SC - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announces a new two-year partnership with Asbury University to host the Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in 2026 and 2027. The championships will be held at the brand-new Gray Outdoor Venue on the campus of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.

“We are pleased to be heading to Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky for this championship, which will give our student-athletes an opportunity to not only experience a new host, but also a new venue,” stated Dan Wood, NCCAA Executive Director. “With Asbury’s commitment to excellence, they will deliver a great experience and a God- honoring event, and we are grateful to Mark Whitworth and his staff for taking on this task.”

The Gray Outdoor Venue is a multi-use facility designed to enrich campus life, impact student formational experience, and grow athletics as a platform to glorify God. Named in honor of President Emeritus Dr. Sandra Gray, the facility contains an eight-lane track surrounding Dr. Rita Pritchett Stadium, which includes a Sprinturf multi-purpose field. The facility also features Musco field lighting, a Daktronics video board, and two buildings connected by a custom roof structure that serve as a press box/meeting space and four locker rooms.

The 1000-seat venue is the home to the Asbury track & field program, in addition to hosting selected Eagle men’s and women’s soccer games and a variety of other campus activities. Asbury dedicated the Gray Outdoor Venue on June 21, 2025, and recently completed construction of a separate throwing event facility to host discus, shot put, and javelin competition.

“As a proud member of the NCCAA, Asbury University is thrilled to host the 2026 and 2027 Outdoor Track & Field Championships at our state-of-the-art Gray Outdoor Venue”, stated Asbury President Dr. Kevin Brown. “In alignment with the NCCAA, Asbury University seeks to advance the cause of Christ through our facilities, character, hospitality, and the platform of athletics. We are looking forward to welcoming teams, families, coaches, and student-athletes.”

Asbury University Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics & University Communications Mark Whitworth added, “This is one of the largest gatherings of NCCAA student-athletes each year, so it is particularly meaningful for us to host this event that goes well beyond competition. Our hope is that this championship will glorify God and enrich the lives of those who participate. We are extremely grateful for the new Gray Outdoor Venue which provides Asbury the opportunity to host an event of this stature and showcase the talent and commitment of the more than 500 student-athletes who will compete.”
