Trinity Christian College Wins 2018 DI Women's Soccer National Championship

Kissimmee, FL (12/1/18):  Trinity Christian College (TCC) won its second (2005) NCCAA DI Women’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday. The Trolls and the No. 2 seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles were tied 2-2 through two overtime periods. Jessica Bianchi scored both goals for the Trolls, while Marjolen Nekesa scored both for the Eagles. TCC went on to win the penalty shootout 9-8 to claim the National Championship.
 
The No. 1 seeded Trolls went 3-0 in pool play and scored a total of 14 goals in those games. In their 8-2 win over No. 8 Columbia International University, Jessica Bianchi had 3 goals and 2 assists, while Selah Hopkins tallied 2 goals and an assist. Bianchi (3 goals, 1 assist) and Hopkins (1 goal, 3 assists) led the way again as the Trolls took down No. 5 Campbellsville University 4-2. The final pool play game was a 2-0 win over No. 4 Ottawa University Arizona, with Bianchi and Hopkins each notching a goal.
