Bob Jones University Wins 2023 DII Women’s Soccer National Championship

Kissimmee, FL (11/18/23) – Bob Jones University won its sixth (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019) NCCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Championship on Saturday. The No. 1 seeded Bruins defeated the No. 4 seed, Southwestern Adventist University, by the score of 2-0 in double overtime. After a scoreless regulation, Mia Marks scored the game winner off an assist from Gabriela Gonzalez in the 95th minute, and Francesca Peters added another in the second overtime period to seal the victory for the Bruins.
 
In their semifinal matchup vs. Crown College, the Bruins and Polars remained scoreless through regulation despite the Bruins outshooting the Polars 21-8. Two minutes into the first overtime period, Mia Marks found the back of the net for what would be the game winning goal to send the Bruins to the championship match.
