Nina Daman Named 2023 DI Cross Country Bullock Award Recipient 11/9/2023 8:06:42 PM Greenville, SC - The NCCAA is pleased to announce Nina Daman of Campbellsville University as the 2023 Dr. Ray Bullock Award Recipient for Division I Women’s Cross Country. Daman is a servant leader who leads by example, while also pouring into and loving on the people around her. The junior from Lexington, Kentucky has been instrumental in helping the Tigers develop a fun, loose, and God-centered team culture. Daman experienced trauma growing up as an orphan in China but was adopted by a family that puts the Lord first in all they do. She is absolutely fearless and is quick to share how the Lord delivered her. Daman’s joy for life and the Lord is contagious to those around her. She serves as a leader in Campbellsville FCA, serves on the Student-Athlete Leadership Team for both Campbellsville and its conference, leads Bible studies, and went on a mission trip to Alaska. On the course, Daman ran her fastest career 5k time of 20:20 at the 2021 NCCAA National Championship, coming just shy of that at this year’s Live in Lou Classic with a time of 20:23. She earned the team’s 2022 Leadership and Determination Award. In the classroom, Daman holds a 3.87 GPA in art with a graphic design emphasis. She’s received academic honors that include Cross Country Academic All-Conference and NAIA Scholar-Athlete. “The joy Nina approaches life with will put a smile on your face in an instant,” said Head Coach Corbin Harris. “She has, without a doubt, the most infectious personality I have ever been around.” Other Finalists Elaina Schwendenmann, Bethel University Award Description For many years, Dr. Ray Bullock dedicated himself to the development of cross country as a sport in general, but also as a ministry within the NCCAA. The NCCAA Hall of Famer (1999) led his teams to over 10 total NCCAA and NAIA national championships and coached dozens of All-Americans. Bullock has impacted the lives of countless student-athletes and coaches through his mentoring and sacrifice. Previous Winners
