PC: Anastasia Noonkesser Strong Second Halves Send Campbellsville and Grace to the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship 12/5/2025 8:09:01 PM Kissimmee, FL – The top two seeds in Campbellsville University and Grace College would each win their semifinal matchups, using a strong second half to secure their bid to the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship. Campbellsville would come from a goal down to highlight the action inside the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex Stadium. The two sides will meet in the title match tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. ET to crown a National Champion. Semifinal 1: #1 Campbellsville University 2, #4 Nelson University 1 Campbellsville and Nelson would trade counter attacks for the first half hour. Campbellsville would outshoot Nelson but neither side could find the net in a very balanced game. In the 39th minute Nelson would earn a free kick roughly 30 yards out. Tyler Peloquin would take it, and it would find the foot of Jonathan Ledesma on the back post to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Nelson would hold the 1-0 advantage into the half despite being outshot 9-7 and only having the one shot on net. The comeback kids would storm back again in the second half, as Mihlali Blesi made a wonderful run to nutmeg the keeper and find the equalizer in the 71st minute. The comeback continued with a. Malte Ekman one-timer from just outside the 18-yard box that gave the Tigers their first lead of the match in the 77th minute. Eduardo De Filippis would receive his second yellow card of the match and be sent off in the 83rd minute, forcing Campbellsville to hold their lead down to 10 men. Campbellsville would do enough to hold on and win 2-1 to secure the first spot in the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship match. Semifinal 2: #2 Grace College 4, #3 Columbia International University 0 Both Grace and Columbia International showed strong defensive presence early, as neither side could get any momentum in the final third. Through the first 17 minutes no shots were recorded. Just before the first shot from the Rams, Grace would be handed an early yellow card for a foul from behind. Joao Parrieira would receive the card for the Lancers. Luis Munoz would record one of the best chances of the first half with a shot just wide in the 24th minute. Juan Garcia of Grace would get a shot on a free kick right before the half ended that would hit the post. The match sat scoreless at halftime. The Lancers would come out pressing early in the second half finding two dangerous crosses in the first five minutes of the second half. In the 48th minute Grace would see the ball find the net on a Columbia International own goal as Fernando Ferro tried to flick it clear and would find his own net. In the 50th minute Grace would find a second goal on a second effort cross from Juan Garcia. Sebastian Lozano would find the end of it to quickly make it 2-0 in favor of the Lancers. Grace would continue to pour it on, as Joao Laranjo would find space in the 54th minute for an easy goal off the assist from Luis Munoz to make it 3-0. Columbia International would spend the last half hour trying to find any response but were unable to do so as the Lancers would score one more time on a corner to win 4-0 and secure their bid to the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship. The Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship match will take place at 7:30 p.m. ET tomorrow night back inside the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex Stadium.
