Paul Fillion Named the 2026 Men’s Volleyball Game Plan 4 LIFE Award Recipient 4/23/2026 12:00:00 AM Greenville, SC – The NCCAA is proud to honor Paul Fillion of Roberts Wesleyan University as the 2026 Game Plan 4 LIFE (GP4L) Award recipient for Men’s Volleyball. Fillion is often described as an athlete who exemplifies what it means to live by faith. Fillion is a member of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes (FCA) leadership team where he actively leads teammates and others on campus in a variety of Bible studies. Beyond campus, Fillion participated in the FCA internship program where he directed various sport ministry camps focused on developing young people in their spiritual formation and athletic skills. The influence FCA had on his spiritual growth led Fillion into a role as team captain and the team chaplain. He leads regular devotionals and meets consistently with coaches and institutional leadership to seek advice in how to lead better. On the court, Fillion has accumulated a multitude of honors through three seasons, most notably earning 2025 NCCAA Second Team All-American honors as an outside hitter and middle blocker. Fillion also earned NCCAA All-Tournament Team honors at the inaugural Men’s Volleyball National Championship in 2025. Academically, Fillion has maintained a 3.81 GPA while majoring in homeland security to earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors and East Coast Conference (ECC) All-Academic honors. Fillion also has earned his first NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors this spring. “Paul exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete of character,” said Roberts Wesleyan Head Coach Mike DeDee. “Whether on the volleyball court or serving in a leadership role with the FCA, he brings complete commitment and maturity to everything he does. Paul is not someone who simply participates, he leads by example, consistently going above and beyond to serve those around him. His involvement across multiple demanding areas of campus life demonstrates the kind of integrity and selflessness that I believe this award was created to recognize.” Award Description The Men’s Volleyball GP4L Character Award recognizes and honors student-athletes who epitomize the Game Plan 4 LIFE values of Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence.
