Game 13: #6 Southwestern Christian University - 9, #4 Judson University - 2
  • After a night of thunderstorms, the final two unbeaten teams in the NCCAA Baseball World Series faced off on a cold and drizzly morning. The weather would not impact the Southwestern Christian offense, as Dario Paredes executed the hit and run perfectly to put runners on the corners for Royce Florenzano in the bottom of the first inning. Florenzano grounded out to score Eliam Dudamel and make it 1-0.
  • Judson starter Jacob Skinner responded with a 1-2-3 inning in the second inning to keep the Eagles deficit at one through two innings of play.
  • Southwestern Christian starter Frangely Morel would walk the leadoff batter in both the second and third innings but would find a way out of it as he continued to keep Judson scoreless.
  • In the bottom of the third, Dario Paredes added to the Southwestern Christian lead with a double to the gap that scored two. The Eagles advanced their lead to 3-0 over Judson after the two RBI hit.
  • Judson was finally able to take advantage of the leadoff walk in the top of the fourth inning. The Eagles saw a pair of singles following the walk, including an RBI single from Alex Wickett to cut the deficit to 3-1. Later in the inning, Derek Cintron grounded out for an RBI to put Judson within one, 3-2.
  • Southwestern Christian immediately got runs back in the bottom of the fourth inning. The scoring started on an opposite field RBI single from Phoenix Nelson that brought home Elvis Rojas to make it 4-2. A fielder’s choice would allow a second Eagles run to score to give Southwestern Christian the three-run lead once again, 5-2.
  • In the top of the sixth inning, Southwestern Christian’s Bryan Melo made an outstanding play from the ground at shortstop to give his pitcher a 1-2-3 inning and help the Eagles hold the 5-2 edge.
  • The defense would lead to more offense for Southwestern Christian, as the Eagles would score three in the bottom of the sixth inning to blow the game open. Nate Anderson would hit an RBI single, and Royce Florenzano would follow with a two RBI single after Judson intentionally walked Dario Paredes. The Eagles led 8-2 going into the seventh.
  • Southwestern Christian would add one more run in the bottom of the seventh on a Bryan Melo squeeze bunt that scored Elvis Rojas and made it 9-2.
  • Southwestern Christian would carry the 9-2 lead all the way to become the last team to remain unbeaten in the NCCAA Baseball World Series.
Game 14: #8 Nelson University American Indian College – 3, #2 Mission University - 1
  • Ethan Banks ran into some trouble on the mound for Mission University in the top of the first inning of an elimination game against Nelson University American Indian College, allowing three hits. He would overcome loading the bases with a pair of strikeouts to keep the game scoreless going into the Patriots first plate appearance.
  • In the bottom of the third inning, the Mission offense would load the bases for the first time. Once again, pitching would find a way through as Nelson American Indian starter Ralphie Felix induced a two out fielder’s choice to keep the game scoreless.
  • With offense looking slim, Mission tried to press the issue in the bottom of the fourth. Sam Golden tried to stretch a single to a double but would be recorded out on a great throw from center field by Nelson’s Gerardo Paco to end the inning.
  • Mission was the first to break the scoreless tie, doing so in the bottom of the sixth inning. CJ Paen would hit an RBI single to score Kaedan Thompson to put the Patriots in front 1-0. Nelson American Indian would go to the bullpen immediately after the run scored. Esteban Acevedo would get out of the inning without any further damage as the Warriors trailed by just one.
  • A two-out double in the top of the eighth by Nelson American Indian would force the Patriots to go to the bullpen and bring in closer Garrett Hunter to try and get the final four outs. Hunter was unable to do so, as Shae Doree recorded a clutch RBI single for the Warriors in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at one.
  • Nelson American Indian would get two more singles off Mission’s closer in the top of the ninth inning. The Patriots were forced to go to Trey Mulholland to try and keep the game tied. Mulholland was unable to do so, as a sacrifice fly gave the Warriors the lead and a Brandon Ramirez RBI single added an insurance run. Nelson led 3-1 going into the bottom of the ninth inning.
  • Esteban Acevedo would get the final three outs to help Nelson American Indian knock out the tournaments number two seed with a 3-1 victory and move on to the night cap of the NCCAA Baseball World Series.
Game 15: #1 University of Fort Lauderdale - 6, #7 Toccoa Falls College - 3
  • The University of Fort Lauderdale and Toccoa Falls College came into an elimination game South Regional Championship rematch with red hot offenses. The starting pitching of Fort Lauderdale’s Coltin Gurzynski-Hathaway and Toccoa Falls Carson Fuchs stifled those offenses though, each recording a 1-2-3 first inning.
  • Toccoa Falls would be the first to break the scoreless drought in the top of the third inning. Aiden Dumas led off the inning with a double and later scored on an infield single from Bricen Blakenship to give the seven seed a 1-0 lead.
  • Fort Lauderdale would get their first hit of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rolando Lujo would hit a ground ball single to get a runner on. Toccoa Falls defense would continue to shine though, getting out of the inning to hold the 1-0 lead.
  • Fort Lauderdale finally found an answer in the bottom of the fifth inning. They used their speed to score without the service of a hit, after a sacrifice fly from Jordan Lewis tied the game at one. Later in the inning the Eagles tried to catch Toccoa Falls sleeping and steal home. The Screaming Eagles would get the out at the plate to keep the game tied 1-1.
  • After a leadoff walk in the bottom of the sixth inning, Toccoa Falls starter Carson Fuchs would be relieved. He ended his outing allowing just one hit and one run to Fort Lauderdale.
  • Fort Lauderdale immediately took advantage of the Toccoa Falls bullpen. Bennett Clement hit a huge two RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning as part of a three-run inning to give the Eagles their first lead, 4-1.
  • Toccoa Falls would two runs back in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly and an RBI groundout to cut the deficit back to one at 4-3.
  • Fort Lauderdale refused to allow Toccoa Falls back into the game though, responding in their turn at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. A bases loaded error scored a run and a sacrifice fly added another run to move the advantage back to three, 6-3.
  • Austin Coward would record the final six outs on the mound for Fort Lauderdale to secure the 6-3 elimination game victory. The Eagles moved on for a rematch with Judson University in the night cap.
Game 16: #4 Judson University – 10, #1 University of Fort Lauderdale - 9
  • In a rematch of yesterday’s contest, the University of Fort Lauderdale wasted no time getting revenge. The Eagles scored before an out was recorded on an RBI triple from Brady Jackson that brought home Jordan Lewis to make it 1-0.
  • Fort Lauderdale continued to add to the lead after a couple of outs were recorded, scoring three more runs on four first inning hits to move their edge to 4-0 before Judson University recorded an at-bat.
  • In the bottom of the first Judson got all four runs back, taking advantage of an error that extended the inning. Kyle Schwartz would hit an RBI single for Judson to continue station-to-station hitting, Matt Armstrong would walk with the bases loaded, and Alex Wickett would hit a two RBI single to tie the game at four.
  • Judson was not done in the bottom of the first, taking the 5-4 lead on a Derek Cintron RBI double after Fort Lauderdale was forced to make a pitching change. Judson would score six runs in total to lead 6-4 after the first inning.
  • The scoring continued into the second inning. Jordan Lewis would single for Fort Lauderdale to start the inning, steal a base and later score on a Rolando Lujo groundout. The Eagles cut the Judson advantage to one at 6-5.
  • After a scoreless third inning, Fort Lauderdale would get even, scoring on a Jun Moeller fielder’s choice to tie the game at six.
  • After four innings of scoreless relief for Fort Lauderdale’s Hunter Niksch, Judson would finally find a run off of him. In the bottom of the fifth Matt Armstrong would hit a sacrifice fly that gave Judson the lead back, 7-6. A crucial two-out error later in the inning allowed two more Judson runs to score, ending the night for Niksch.
  • Fort Lauderdale again tried to get within striking distance. After giving up the runs in the bottom of the fifth they would get one back on an RBI single from Gabriel Mangual in the top of the sixth. Fort Lauderdale trailed 9-7 going into the seventh inning.
  • Jordan Lewis, in the top of the seventh, recorded his second hit of the game for Fort Lauderdale with an RBI triple to once again bring the Eagles within one run of Judson, 9-8. The Eagles continued to find baserunners in the inning and would tie the game back up at nine on a sacrifice fly from Bennett Clement, his second RBI of the day.
  • After Fort Lauderdale tied the game at nine the bullpens would prevent any further damage from crossing the plate despite continuing to face traffic. Judson would come to the plate in the bottom of the ninth with the score still tied and a chance to walk it off.
  • In the bottom of the ninth, Judson got a pair of singles before an out was recorded to put pressure on Fort Lauderdale. Alex Wickett with one out would be the hero for Judson with a ball hit to left field with a runner on third. He would drive in the run after the ball was dropped in left to give Judson the 10-9 victory. The Eagles advance to play Southwestern Christian in the NCCAA Baseball World Series National Championship Game tomorrow at noon CT.

  • In the top of the second inning, Southwestern Christian saw smart baserunning lead to a run. Royce Florenzano after being hit by a pitch stole second. He later continued to round the bases on a two out infield single that allowed him to score when the ball got away from the Warrior defense. After two innings of play the Eagles led 1-0.
  • Nelson American Indian would bring a new pitcher in to start the top of the third inning as they continued a bullpen effort. Southwestern Christian would take advantage, adding two more runs on a Royce Florenzano two RBI single before an out was recorded.
  • Southwestern Christian would bring in a new pitcher in the bottom of the third inning after a pair of walks to start the inning. Nelson American Indian would take advantage of the free baserunners, tying the game at three with an Ethan Gustafson RBI groundout and a Jimmy Holloway two RBI double.
  • The Eagles regained the lead when the middle of their lineup came to the plate again in the top of the fifth inning. Dario Paredes did what he does best and hit an RBI single to score Nate Anderson and put Southwestern Christian back in front, 4-3.
  • A new pitcher in Matthew Schultz made a great play for Nelson American Indian to avoid any further damage in the top of the fifth, recovering from a wild pitch to get the out at home and keep the deficit at one, 4-3.
  • Southwestern Christian got an insurance run in the top of the sixth. Braden Browning would execute the safety squeeze to score Elvis Rojas and make it 5-3.
